The Creative Space will be bringing together a variety of local Virginia artists for a live performance at Firehouse Theatre! This is an opportunity for artists to present their music in a live and intimate setting.
Jay is not your typical young student of hip hop from the DMV region. Carrying a diversified sound range; mixing poetic-storytelling, new era trap & new soul, Jay delivers lyrics to study and a drive to entertain while “keeping it real”. His lates project, For The Long Run was released March 30th 2019. A ten track project displaying a coming of age story of a younger Mac taking on the world on his own in the midst of false promises, few opportunities and social media.
Guero is an artist from Richmond, Virginia. He describes his music as “whatever he wants to hear." He’s currently working on his debut album to be released within the next year.
Burnt Bridges The Label
Burnt Bridges is a record label originating in Southside Virginia. It includes rap group Nu Era Moguls with members Johnny Danger, JTG, and Southside Popi and other artists including photographers, videographers, designers, and models. This year each artist will be dropping music and other content including JTG’s Red Roses and JohnnyDanger’s Decisions all throwing events for networking with other creatives.
Mood Ring is a VA made group of producers, singers/rappers that combine well known genres and styles to create a warm soulful sound that can range from mellow alternative like cuts to deep ambient lo fi cuts evoking a range of emotions and feelings.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Shy Lennox is a young artist known internationally for his soulful, yet modern take on alternative R&B. Shy is a multi-instrumentalist who uniquely fuses elements of classic hip-hop/r&b, electronica, and free-form jazz. As an indie artist, his smooth sound and creative work has been increasingly recognized by many. Some of his major accomplishments include being a headliner for Virginia PRIDE and placing first in the Virginia NATS Competition. He has been featured in AfroPunk, Lyrical Lemonade, the Commonwealth Times, Ink Magazine, RVA Magazine, and on various online publications. Shyheim's debut EP titled "Audition" has gained over 2 million streams and 50k monthly listeners, and has been featured on various shows and radio stations throughout the United States and Italy. Shy plans on releasing 4 new singles over the next few months and will also be working as a songwriter and creative director for a few major label artists. -- @shylennox
