Come join us for a journey through the history of gospel music! Through this evening of performance and narrative, Bubba and his company will guide you through a vibrant musical experience.
You will hear Bubba's own original music alongside songs by Thomas A. Dorsey, The Gospel Caravans, Rev. James Cleveland, Willie Mae Ford, Rev. Shirley Caesar, The Hawkins Singer, and The Clarke Sisters.
Bubba Johnson comes from a long line of musical talent – singers, guitarists, drummers and pianists. He does it all – he sings, plays keyboard, piano and organ. By the time Bubba was 17 years old his voice was well known at churches across Ashland, Richmond, and Montpelier, Virginia. He also made history by being the 1st black gospel artist to record live in Richmond.
Bubba began writing arrangements and composing music at the age of 22. He had written over 101 songs before publishing his 1st CD, “Bubba Johnson and Company” in 2001. In 2003, he published his 2nd project entitled “No Doubt in My Mind” featuring the legendary storyteller, Dorothy Norwood. Bubba signed with a record company, Dar Records, and his 3rd project entitled “Make Me Over” was released May 21st of 2011. Bubba has traveled all over the United States sharing his ministry and talent.
