Spinning into Butter

Sarah Daniels is beginning her second year as Dean of Students at a small private liberal-arts college in Vermont, when one student becomes the target of a hate crime.  Each action Sarah takes to handle the situation only escalates the tension with the administration.  Spinning Into Butter explores the dangers of racism and political correctness, while leading the audience to some surprising discoveries and painful insights.

Directed by Morrie Piersol; featuring: Katie McCall, Fred Iocovo, Melissa Johnston-Price, Robert Albertia, Steve Moore, Anthony Santiago, and Matt Polson.  Producer: Amy Wight.  Set design: Edwin Slipek, Jr. Lighting design: Geno Brantley. Doors open one half-hour before showtimes.

Thursday, November 1 - Doors open at 7:00 for a special wine tasting, provided by Once Upon a Vine. Show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Panel Discussion - Post-show panel discussion facilitated by Anna Edwards, founding member of Defenders for Freedom, Justice, & Equality; and Chair of the Sacred Ground Historical Reclamation Project. Panel members include Bonnie Gabel of Equality Virginia; Malik Kahn, Islamic Center of Virginia board member; and Naomi Chambers-Taylor, Executive Director of the North Richmond Family YMCA.
* Thursday, November 15 - New! RPEC Night at the Firehouse - Join the Richmond Peace Education Center for a special reception and post-show talk back, at special ticket prices! Mention “RPEC” when calling the box office, and receive $15 tickets! Doors open at 7 p.m. for reception before the show; talk-back with the director, cast and designers after the show.
