Current Season
Mr. Marmalade
by Noah Haidle
September 13 - October 6, 2007
The Firehouse Theatre presents its first play of the 15th Season, Mr. Marmalade by Noah Haidle, directed by Rusty Wilson.
In this dark comedy, adult behavior is interpreted through the characters Lucy and Larry, two very smart children. Lucy has a precocious vocabulary, killer skills in the kitchen, a husband who spends too much time at the office, and she’s just four years old! Larry is the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. Lucy’s imaginary world revolves around a too-busy businessman named Mr. Marmalade who never has time for the child who adores him, beats up his personal assistant, has a drug addiction and a penchant for pornography. Mr. Marmalade is a savage dark comedy about what it takes to grow up in difficult times.
Mr. Marmalade opens September 13th at 8:00 pm and runs through October 6th. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, with special Pay-What-You-Will matinees on Sundays September 23rd and 30th at 4:00 pm. Individual tickets are $25.00, Senior Citizens are $23.00 and students are only $10.00 with a valid I.D. Season tickets are still available at only $85.00!
Director Rusty Wilson leads a cast of highly talented actors including Laine Satterfield, Andy Boothby, Erin Thomas, Tony Foley, Larry Cook, and more! Mr. Wilson has worked as an actor and director on the Firehouse stage. Style Weekly hailed Wilson’s direction of Where’s My Money? by John Patrick Shanley stating “Under the direction of Rusty Wilson, the six-member cast gets an opportunity to shine.” Local actress and arts-advocate Laine Satterfield plays the role of four year old Lucy.
