posted on January 8, 2008
The winners of the Firehouse Theatre’s 2007 Playwriting Contest have been selected!
Make plans to attend both plays, and have your say in the next best American playwright.
Two finalists have been chosen by a distinguished panel of judges from more than 150 scripts received from across the country. They are:
Richard Willett, for his script Tiny Bubbles; and Jon Busch, for Pet Shop Days. Both plays will be presented on alternating nights during the Firehouse Theatre’s Sixth Annual Festival of New American Plays, Thursday-Sunday, January 17-20. As always, tickets are affordable, and everyone who sees both plays may vote for the winning script! A truly democratic event. Come and vote for your favorite!
Show Dates/Times:
Tiny Bubbles: Thursday, January 17; and Saturday, January 19.
Pet Shop Days: Friday, January 18, and Sunday, January 20.
All shows, 7:30 p.m.
Tickets: Suggested donation $5 each play at the door, students with valid ID get in free.
Applause, congratulations, and our thanks to the winners, the semi-finalists, the judges, and all the many, many volunteer readers who took time to ensure that only the very best new American plays come to the Firehouse stage!
