The Firehouse Theatre Project is proud to announce the world premiere of Austin’s Bridge a new musical with book and lyrics by Bill C. Davis and music by Brett Boles. The production, directed by Bill C. Davis, will run June 21 – July 7 at the Firehouse Theatre.
A privileged young man, Austin Quinn, plagued by debt and pursued by the law fakes his death and hides out by taking a job as a housefather at a remote country facility for mentally challenged adults. This “Village” and its “citizens” become a bridge for the young man - a bridge from the confusion and emptiness of a debt-ridden, superficial, lonely world to discoveries about romantic, paternal and unconditional love - a bridge to understanding finally what it means to be human.
The Firehouse Theatre is also excited that this will be the professional debut of young composer Brett Boles who, judging by his score for Austin’s Bridge, will become a major voice in the American musical theatre.
Show dates are Thursday through Saturday June 21st through July 7, at 8:00pm with Sunday matinees June 24th and July 1st at 4:00pm. Tickets are $25.00. For group sales or for more information, contact Jessica Fulbright at 804-355-2001.
