Avow by Bill C. Davis - Two Nights Only - Sunday, November 5, 2006

Acclaimed Playwright Bill C. Davis Will Visit The Firehouse on Sunday and Monday, November 5th and 6th for dramatic readings of his new play.  7:30 p.m.  Tickets $5 - $7.

Avow, the new play by Bill C. Davis, award winning author of Mass Appeal, which ran on Broadway and was later made into a movie starring Jack Lemmon, is the story of Tom and Brian, “salad bar” Catholics who seek the help of their parish priest to perform their marriage ceremony.
Although Tom and Brian’s relationship is central to Avow, the play touches on virtually every major issue confronting the modern Catholic Church.  Davis asks real questions here that will provoke skepticism, frustration and even anger in some audience members. This fearless provocation is one of the play’s great merits”.—NY Newsday.

Directed by Isaac Butler. Featuring: Robert Throckmorton, Irene Ziegler, Jaqueline O’Connor, Robert Albertia, John Moon, and Margarette Joyner.
